How did you guys do your evaporative coolers?? I didn't get a good look, I only know that it was LOVELY in there for such a big space and so many bodies. Would love to do a small one in my RV for next year.

If there is a website with drawings and or diagrams to go with it, that would be great so you'se don't have to take a page to spain it.

It was a totally straightforward evaporative cooling system - we hope to have something a little more complex next year.

We basically took two Essick 3301 Evap Coolers, plumbed them with makeshift cylndrical ducting to a hand built ducting "mating frame". The coolers were fed with a combination of semi-potable water and ice water. We had extra Evap Pads and attempted to filter the coolers with 3M dust filters.

    Some things to note:

o Playa Dust Eats Filters for breakfast. They lasted 30 seconds in the first dust storm.

o The Entire Evap System was crippled when Playa got into our Evap Water. Your containers need to be sealed fairly well.

o Watch out for greenhouse effect.

o Key thing with evap coolers is you need an egress point that is properly sized for your intake. Ours was too large so cooling, while pretty good, wasn't optimal. We'll either need to work on sealing the dome next year better, or increase our intake.

In an RV, you'll need to figure out some way of opening up an egress for whatever sized cooling system you'll get or your RV turns into a big humid spa....

Why does everybody want to spend hours cooling their space? The Hookadome needed to be cooled and you guys did a fantastic job cooling it. But an evaporative cooling system for an RV ain't gunna work.

Here's the deal. BRC is hot, but it's not that hot. Just embrace the warmth and live with it. Same goes for dust. It's there. It was there before you were born. It will be there after you die. It's everywhere in BRC. Deal with it.

For those of you that really don't like the heat and dust: disneyland.disney.go.com
