I visited the Hookahdome on Monday night and when I removed my shoes, I placed them inside by boyfriend's shoes. Later that evening when I went to the porta-potty, I noticed that my shoes were missing. I looked all over for them, as did my boyfriend and friends and a hookahdome staff person. They were not found. I returned a couple of times through the week and was directed to a lost and found pile, but did not find them.
They are a pair of blue patent leather Mary Jane heels. Mary Janes are buckle shoes, like girls used to wear in grade school. They are about a size 8 or so and have white scuff marks on the toes and heels. The straps have additional holes poked in them as well.
They have been to Burning Man all three years I have attended and I would love to have them back so if anyone knows where they are, please contact me.
Thanks very much.
And thank you for the hookahdome. I only went inside the dome the one night, but me and my friends were by the site at least once every night.

Re: Missing Shoes
Fri, September 10, 2004 - 3:23 PMHi Dahlink!! Yay yay yay. Your shoes were seen kickin all around in the vestibule out front, then they were in the back entry for days. I think they got around of their own accord!! Maybe all that energy animated them?? Someone said that a femme had been lookin for 'em, but they were still sitting there on Monday when I left. They weren't my style, but I thought they might suit a friend instead of going in the L&F which was getting regularly scavenged by passers-by (hard to control that --as much as we'd have liked to safeguard, there were just too many things left behind and too much going on). I am happy to say they are safe with me until you can pick them up. Glad you enjoyed being with us and so glad you've got a happy ending to the shoe mystery so they can prance with you again in BRC. -

I am so glad they weren't taken, that would have bummed me out bigtime if someone walked off with a pair of shoes in the desert.
