Re: 2004 Hookahdome music
Wed, March 16, 2005 - 2:19 PMI heard some great music at Hookahdome last year, and I'd like to find out sources for it, what it was, like turkish rock, to use on my radio show here on Kauai.
Can anyone help or tell me who to talk to please.
Many thanks, lookin forward to hearin it again.

Re: 2004 Hookahdome music
Sat, March 19, 2005 - 12:22 AMHi Nick,
Any chance you can remember what day and approximate time you heard some of the music you particularly liked? Some of the DJs who spun at HD this year are on this tribe and might speak up if they can match up their play times with your time frame. It worked for me! -

Re: 2004 Hookahdome music
Sat, March 19, 2005 - 1:05 AMI had to leave the night of the Man Burning, and it was one or two nights before that.
If some of the DJ's are here, I'd love to barter for some CD's or at least names of albums.

Re: 2004 Hookahdome music
Mon, March 21, 2005 - 3:02 PMHere is a quick link to the thread Quasipseudo was referring to:
california.tribe.net/thread/...5be82292
Otherwise, some good pre-fab cds to look into would include:
anything from Shpongle
the Arabica compilation
Arabesque compilation (the one with the close up of a camel's head)
Buddha Bar cd sets
Govinda's Entwinded and Entranced
Dzihan and Kamien's Freaks and Icons
These are all fairly representative of the "vibe" of the dome, and a quick fix if you're jonsing for that type of music. -

Re: 2004 Hookahdome music
Mon, March 21, 2005 - 11:18 PMSpeaking of dZihan and Kamien ... I have a couple hours of a DJ live set from them from 2001 if anyone's interested. Or if someone has a place I could put the mp3s to make them more publicly available, I'm totally into sharing this music.
Oh, by the way, Hi Hookahdome! I found you all on the playa last year but just now discovered your tribe. Looking forward to seeing you in, what, 158 days!?
woot woot! -

Re: 2004 Hookahdome music
Tue, March 22, 2005 - 8:11 PMMy only regret at BM was not spending more time in the dome. Miranda's performance was memorable.
Thanks,
Robin, See you again this summer! -
